What is Knowledge Forge and is it included?

Knowledge Forge is both an assessment service and a learning platform, and tuition packages include both. The adaptive assessments produce professional reports — mathematics, verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and mental arithmetic, or all four together as the Knowledge Forge Learning Profile™. The Knowledge Forge Platform at knowledgeforge.app is where your child practises between lessons: we set the work for the days you don't have a lesson, and children sit standardised tests and reasoning papers, earn rewards and build progress reports you can see. Every package includes platform membership plus a monthly allowance of AI credits, and you can top up at any time.

Who actually teaches the lessons?

Every lesson is taught personally by an experienced educator with more than twenty years in education, including Year 6 leadership and former Head of Maths experience. Knowledge Forge is being built to bring expert educators and intelligent technology together within one connected learning system, so additional verified specialist educators will join in future; tuition today is delivered one-to-one.

How do we start?

Most families begin with an adaptive assessment — either the Adaptive Mathematics Assessment (£45) or the full Knowledge Forge Learning Profile™ (£129). Your child sits it online at home, you receive a premium report and a personalised learning plan, and only then do you decide whether to commit to lessons.

Are lessons online or in person?

Both. Online lessons use a shared interactive whiteboard and are recorded for revision. In-person lessons are available in and around Haslemere, Surrey, subject to availability; families further afield are welcome online.

Which exams do you prepare for?

KS2 SATs, GL, CEM and ISEB 11+, 13+ and Common Entrance Maths, scholarship papers, GCSE Foundation Maths, and independent and grammar school interviews.

You receive a short note after each lesson and a formal progress report every half term, all collected in your parent dashboard alongside assessment results.

What is the difference between 11+ and SATs for Year 6?

SATs are the national curriculum assessments sat in May of Year 6, measuring attainment against age-related expectations in arithmetic and reasoning. The 11+ is a selective entrance exam for grammar and independent senior schools, testing ability and reasoning beyond the curriculum and usually taken between September and January of Year 6. In a prep school, children are typically prepared for the 11+ and senior school entry rather than SATs, so the focus is on reasoning, exam technique and school-specific papers rather than the statutory national tests. Knowledge Forge supports families through whichever route applies — and both, where a school still sits SATs alongside 11+ preparation.

What is your cancellation policy?

Lessons cancelled with more than 24 hours' notice are rescheduled free of charge. Inside 24 hours, the lesson is charged in full.
