What we keep about you

When you practise on Knowledge Forge we save:

• Your first name and your year group.
• Your username for signing in (not your email address).
• The answers you type or write, and how long questions take you.
• Your targets and how you are getting on with them.

Why we keep it

So the questions you get are the right level for you, so your tutor can help with the things you find tricky, and so your grown-up can see how you are doing.

We never use it to send you adverts, and we never sell it to anyone.

Who can see it

Only three kinds of people: the parent or carer who set up your account, your own tutor, and the Knowledge Forge team, who look after the site. Other pupils cannot see your work.

Does a computer mark my work?

Sometimes, yes. A computer helps mark writing answers and helps write the first draft of a report. A real teacher checks the important parts, and nothing a computer says decides whether you get into a school.

If you think the marking is wrong, tell your grown-up or your tutor. We will look at it again ourselves.

You get a say

You can ask to see what we keep about you, ask us to fix something that is wrong, or ask us to delete it. The easiest way is to ask your parent or carer, who can do it from their dashboard.
